Mirihi Island Resort reopening is coming soon under a new name and management : V Villas Maldives by MGallery, by Accor.
Almost a year ago, our beloved Mirihi, a unique gem and a snorkeling paradise located in South Ari Atoll, revealed its plan to close from May 5 to November 30 2025 for major enhancements. At the time, the resort promised to keep its soul intact : the barefoot simplicity, the silence, and the extraordinary natural beauty that have long defined this small Maldivian luxury resort.

Time flies ! Announced back in November 2024, the temporary closure and renovation of Mirihi Island Resort have finally come to an end.
The resort has now officially announced its reopening as V Villas Maldives at Mirihi, MGallery Collection, ( a long name…) marking a brand-new chapter for one of the Maldives’ most iconic boutique resorts.

Mirihi Reopening 2025 – What We Knew Then

In my November 2024 update, I shared details of the renovation program:

Complete villa refurbishments and refreshed interiors
A redesigned spa and a brand-new lagoon-view gym
The island’s first infinity pool
Four new two-bedroom Water Suites, each with its own pool

Those were the last official details released before the reopening and, interestingly, they remain the most accurate information available today.

Mirihi Today, A silent Reopening but Full of Promise

While no new visuals or design previews have yet been shared, the MGallery Collection by Accor has confirmed Mirihi’s inclusion in its portfolio.
The resort is now welcoming bookings for December 2025 onwards, signaling the return of one of the Maldives’ most intimate islands. For travelers who fell in love with Mirihi’s peaceful rhythm : its no-TV villas, no engine-powered watersports, and its legendary house reef, we still don’t know if Accor will maintain this now -unique philisophy in the Maldives.

Let’s hope the resort will continue to preserve its quietness and natural beauty.

A Story That Continues

When we stayed at Mirihi, we were struck by the silence. Today, as Mirihi reopens under MGallery, we can only hope that this delicate balance between elegance and simplicity remains untouched.
