Joy Island Maldives marked Global Wellness Day with a thoughtfully curated celebration of well-being, connection, and island living, bringing together immersive wellness experiences, nourishing cuisine, and shared moments designed to restore mind, body, and soul.

The day began at sunrise as guests boarded a traditional Maldivian dhoni anchored in the calm waters surrounding the island for a gentle Hatha flow yoga session. Set against the soft colours of the early morning sky, the practice focused on breath, balance, and mindful connection with nature, accompanied by the soothing sounds of the ocean.

Following the session, guests returned to the resort for a wellness-inspired breakfast experience at the main pool, centred around a 24-foot floating breakfast installation, believed to be among the largest of its kind. Curated by the resort’s executive chef and culinary team, it featured a selection of wholesome breakfast dishes, fresh pastries, tropical fruits, nutrient-rich options, and herbal infusions.

The celebrations continued with a healthy mocktail-making competition, where team members showcased creativity through wellness-inspired beverages crafted with fresh tropical ingredients and herbs, creating an engaging and interactive experience for guests.

Ahmed Jihad (Jay), chief operating officer of The Cocoon Collection, said Global Wellness Day reflects the importance of embracing healthier, more mindful living. He noted that the programme at Joy Island Maldives brought together sunrise yoga, a distinctive culinary showcase, and team creativity in a way that captured the spirit of joy.

The celebrations form part of Joy Island Maldives’ ongoing commitment to delivering meaningful experiences that encourage guests to slow down, reconnect with nature, and embrace island living in its purest form.
